In Which Life is Funny

A couple days ago, Sonora's seventeen-month-old friend Amelia came to visit. She was surprised to see two babies. She was astonished to see that they were alive.

Having four little girls in the house is no laughing matter, I assure you. Once Sonora and Amelia amused themselves by leaning on and pushing the babies' crib. Thankfully, it was empty. Still, they were just a little too wild. On being told that, "Ladies, it's time to stop," Sonora got off her end of the crib and began pushing Amelia out of the way, yelling, "Ladies! Stop! Ladies! Stop!" Sometimes, you just need a friend to be brutally honest with you.

The twins have two wonderful little swings that they use when they are downstairs. Several times, we grownups of the house will scoop up one of the twins and turn around to see another infant in the swing we had just emptied. It's usually baby Jane, Sonora's doll. I'm telling you, Sonora slaps a baby doll in those swings the minute they are emptied. It's usually funny, unless one of us gets confused. Oh, you may laugh, but you wouldn't be laughing if you were faced with two alternatives: babies were coming out of everywhere, or you had somehow lost count.

Sometimes Sonora calls out "Mama! Mia! Mama! Mia!"
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh! Hee! Hee! . . . Well, maybe that's just me.

"Oh! I can't look! Tell me when they take the camera away!"

"Honnah, I'm telling you -- you're on MY side of the bed!"

Mia likes to do a little dance.
