We were eating supper, when we heard snuffling in the other room. (For the last couple days, we have been able to tell when Honnah has been awake because it sounds like a pig rooting for acorns. But such things happen when the weather gets cold, even for very cute little girls.) Then the snuffling turned into fussing.
"Nanny," Sonora said, addressing Natalie. "Get Honnah."
Natalie just glared. She does not take kindly to being bossed by the two-year-old, and Honnah stopped fussing anyway. It started again in a minute though, of course.
"Sonora," Natalie said. "Go get Honnah."
"No," Sonora said. "I'm a big girl."
"Yes, you are," Lisa agreed, probably thinking thoughts about big girl potties and reduced diaper bills.
The fussing turned into crying.
"Nanny," Sonora began again. "Go get Honnah. She is sad."
"What do you say?" Natalie demanded.
There was a long pause.
"Thank you," Sonora said.
Natalie got Honnah, and the fussing subsided into snuffling.
This is Mia's dramatic interpretation of Natalie at the time:

Sonora sounds as if she is handling her responsibilities as older sister quite nicely and keeping everyone else on track!
Yes, pictures of Mia! It's about time she had some fair play. And the Hacker had to fess up--she is not always just the funny girl. (But she is obviously a self-facrificing, dedicated aunty).
Mia was grunting quite nicely last night herself, adorable!
